Tom Brittney

Tom is known for his role in AMC/Channel 4’s eight-part drama HUMANS, which was Channel 4’s biggest original drama hit for 20 years, as well as the critically acclaimed BBC One drama THE SYNDICATE, from BAFTA Award-winning writer Kay Mellor. In 2016, Tom was seen in Sky1’s THE FIVE - based on Harlen Coben’s international best-selling book. He also appeared in UNREAL, a television series on Lifetime. Tom is also known for his role in the ABC series SPARK, from writer Michael Cooney and producers Ian Sander and Kim Moses. Set in an alternate history where gas and coal fuel the world, the drama centres on the battle for power between two rival families and a rebellious young woman with a spark of invention that could level both their empires. Tom was seen alongside Antonia Thomas and Regé John-Page. In 2017, Tom was seen alongside Annette Bening and Jamie Bell in FILM STARS DON’T DIE IN LIVERPOOL. The film follows a romance between a young actor and a Hollywood leading lady and stars Annette Bening and Jamie Bell. FILM STARS DON’T DIE IN LIVERPOOL premiered at last year’s BFI London Film Festival. Tom can currently be seen starring in the seventh series of GRANCHESTER. In 2019, Tom took over from James Norton’s Sidney Chambers as the new crime fighting vicar, Will Davenport, in the fourth series of GRANTCHESTER. Based on the series ‘The Grantchester Mysteries’ written by James Runcie, GRANTCHESTER follows Detective Inspector Geordie Keating (Robson Green) as he explores and solves a collection of mysteries that occur in the Cambridgeshire village. In 2020, Tom took the lead role in BBC Three’s MAKE ME FAMOUS, a factual drama exploring the complications and mental health impact of instant fame under the magnifying glass of social media, following the tragedies of recent reality television stars. Tom starred as Billy, who struggles to balance the afterglow of fame and the resulting assumptions people have made about his character after starring in a fictional-constructed reality TV show. MAKE ME FAMOUS investigates the roles that are played by producers, the tabloid media and TV viewers in the aftermath of leaving a reality TV show. Tom has received rave reviews for his performance, with The Times describing him as “exceptional”. MAKE ME FAMOUS is available on BBC iPlayer. 2020 also saw Tom starring opposite writer and producer Tom Hanks in the WW2 thriller film GREYHOUND. Set in the early days of World War II, GREYHOUND follows an international convoy of 37 allied ships, led by Capt. Ernest Krause (Tom Hanks) and Lt. Watson (Tom Brittney), cross the treacherous North Atlantic while being hotly pursued by wolf packs of Nazi submarines. It was recently announced that Tom has founded his own television and film production company, Wild Nest Pictures. The London-based company has acquired the rights to The Mayfair 100 novels, penned by Lynn Brittney, and have teamed with Patrick Melrose outfit Little Island Productions to develop the adaptation. Wild Nest Pictures will also be teaming up with Trevor Birney’s Belfast-based production company Fine Point Films (Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God) to develop a TV drama based on the controversial 2018 arrests of Birney and fellow Northern Irish journalist Barry McCaffrey.
Of course, as we all know here...Tom played, the much loved, Lt. Jeremy Foster, in the first season of Outlander. Can we just say how very stoked we are to have THE KiCaSS "Leftenant" joining us!!
